Kathleen’s love for photography developed in high school while taking an Art History class; she fell in love with art and photographs in particular thanks to a zealous teacher that adored all mediums of art. While she loved art, Kathleen also loved literature and writing. She got a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Secondary Education from Illinois Wesleyan University. Her love for teaching allows her to relate to both children and adults, and she is able to quickly think on her feet.
After receiving her degree, she taught English Literature and Writing to middle and high school students in Illinois for a few years before moving to California with her husband. Her love for working with people translates into her photographs; she adores finding the true joy that lies within each individual and capturing it for the families to treasure forever.
In addition to teaching middle and high school students, Kathleen has worked with students ranging from elementary school to adults through volunteer work at home and abroad in Ecuador. She loves getting to know individuals and hearing their stories. The care that she takes in getting to know someone adds a wonderful, personal touch to the photographs that she captures of each individual, couple, and family. She can’t wait to hear and photograph your story!
